Celebrating Seniors


Our very own Rosemary Cleaves was nominated by avid Womenader, Candace Guldeman, as a senior citizen who constantly goes above and beyond for their community for the month of October. If you haven't already seen her on KSBY be on the lookout!

Potluck at Avila Beach


A BIG THANK YOU to Ashley Hahn and her mother, Dana Senes, for hosting the Fall Potluck Fundraiser! They decorated the room with a fall theme complete with fall tablecloths and napkins. They invited many first timers to attend and learn about what South SLO County Womenade is about. We had over 40 people in attendance and raised over $2,000! The food offerings were outstanding and definitely continued the reputation of the best potluck food around!


We had a great activity - making 100 "Lunch Buddy" bags for students who don't have food to eat on the weekend because they get a free breakfast and lunch at school. The students in the Families in Transition were the beneficiaries of the wonderful weekend lunch bags. Each bag was stuffed with 2 proteins, 2 fruits, 2 granola bars, oatmeal, trail mix and a couple of Halloween candy bars. A couple of people have indicated that they are interested in participating in our Lunch Buddy program. We have a number of schools on our list waiting for volunteers to pack weekly bags of weekend bags! Let us know if you are interested sslocwomenade@gmail.com



Next Potluck


Our next potluck will be hosted by Candace Guldeman on Thursday, December 10th at 5PM. Mark your calendars!  The picture is from last year's potluck fundraiser at her home! Candace says although it's NOT the big Christmas decoration year (every other year!) there are always decorations galore! As always bring a dish to share, your place setting, a beverage. Our Zeffy invitation link will be available in early November.

In case you're wondering what's up next - Mark your calendars!


Winter Break Holiday Food Baskets - starting in mid November we will start collecting signups for people to donate food for our Winter Break Holiday Food Baskets. We are only doing one Food Basket project this year. We will begin asking you to sign up to provide needed items in mid November. As usual you will be able to shop on your own to be delivered the week of December 14th or shop on Amazon. We will be packing and delivering on December 17th.


The School Supplies packing and distribution will take place on January 18th.

To make a donation write a check to South SLO County Womenade and mail to: South SLO County Womenade, 1793 Farroll Rd., Grover Beach, CA 93433.  Our bank asked that checks be made out with the full legal name on the account.


We encourage you to become one of our monthly or regular donors.  This can be easily done through your bank or charitable foundation. Please remember that if your company has a matching grants program to include us.  As you make or update your wills, please consider adding a legacy gift to us for our future sustainability.
