Thanksgiving Food Baskets
Yes! We’re already planning. It’s 6 weeks ‘til we sort, pack and deliver our 7th Annual Thanksgiving Food Baskets! Like so much of what we do for our community neighbors in need, it takes planning and organization.
Our Project Leader is the intrepid Kristin Bertsch back for her 5th year! She is also one of our new board members and is very busy wearing many hats. To pull this off we need to jump on it. Her announcement is below.
Key dates:
October 7 – Sign Up Genius for food sign up goes live. Shop whenever and wherever you like, but please don’t drop off until November 10th through the 14th.
October 20th - November 10th - Amazon Link will be available. Please sign up for what you order through Amazon on Sign Up Genius to help us keep track of what’s been signed up for.
November 10th – 14th Drop off food at drop off locations (to be announced)
November 16th – Food delivered to assembly location Please don't drop off early!
November 17th – Inventory and sorting
November 20th – Packing and Delivery

Fall is here and that means we will be starting to collect food donations for families in need over the Thanksgiving holiday. This will be our 7th year providing Thanksgiving meals to families in our community. This year we are supporting 220 families! (Last year we did 185)
Each family will receive everything they need to create an amazing Thanksgiving meal; 3 bags of food plus a turkey (purchased at a huge discount through The SLO Food Bank) plus a donated 1 lb bag of delicious taco chips from TACO Works in SLO. We look forward to coming together to help these 220 families in our community enjoy their holiday this year.

Below are 3 options for helping us purchase food for these baskets:
Option 1 - You can buy food locally and drop it off in town to various locations. Use this Sign Up Genius form to sign up for food and then drop food off at a Womenader's house between Monday, November 10 - Friday, November 14. Drop off locations will be emailed to you after sign up. Please only drop off during 11/10 – 11/14 week!
.Option 2 - You can buy food using our Amazon Gift List & have it sent directly to us. Collection period: October 20 - November 14, 2025. Please fill in the food you purchased Sign Up Genius to help us keep track.
Option 3 - You can donate money through our web site, and we will shop for you.
In whatever way you are able to help out whether it's buying food or volunteering in person to pack up the baskets, we thank you for being a part of this very important project to give families a Thanksgiving meal this holiday season.
