Reminder: end of toiletry drive is this Wednesday
Our toiletry is drawing to a close. Thank you to all who have donated much needed toiletries to those in need in our community. It's not too late! You have until Wednesday, May 31st to drop some off. After that we are finishing our packing and hope to delivery at the end of the week - by Friday June 2!
Here is a reminder of the details:
Toiletry Drive – Candace Guldeman and Robin Pisz are leading the toiletry drive effort this year from May 1 to May 31
Hygiene poverty is an inability to afford everyday hygiene products. People cannot bathe with soap, or wash hair with shampoo and conditioner; they are using old toothbrushes or no toothbrush without toothpaste; not shaving or using deodorant; cleaning clothes less frequently; delay in changing diapers; using rags for sanitary products or not attending school or work due to lack of feminine hygiene products; being judged or bullied because of how they smell or look; mental health issues caused by the lack of self esteem.
